About Bonnie
I've been a doula since 2014 and recently finished my midwifery education. I have attended over 200+ births since I began my doula business.
I came to love all things birth related through the birth of my children. What started as a curiosity before having children grew into a passion after the birth of my first son. My first baby was born in a hospital with a routine epidural in 2008. Although it was a safe, healthy, and happy birth, I sought out more empowerment for my second birth. My second son was born naturally and peacefully in the hospital using Hypnobabies in 2010, even though I developed a need for a medically necessary induction. After that I realized my calling in life was to help people have better birth experiences - what ever that meant to the person giving birth. From this passion, Bellissimo Birth Services was created. My third son was born at home surrounded by love at the end of 2021.
I am a mother, wife, yogi, bookworm, and wanna-be world traveler. I am also a birth doula, midwife, Hypnobabies instructor, placenta encapsulation specialist and trainer, and a Bengkung belly binder- offering differing styles/patterns for binds.
As a doula, midwife, and childbirth educator, I love to help moms have the best birth possible whatever that means to them. Providing moms with knowledge equates to power for them and their birth experience. Helping women learn and understand tools needed to help create a peaceful birthing experience is something I consider vital for a birthing woman and am proud to offer that.
I have supported moms in many birth situations such as vaginal breech birth, home births, planned epidurals, special needs C-section, and unmedicated births. I am very familiar with Hypnobabies, Bradley, and Hypnobirthing methods of childbirth as well as many other mindful birthing practices. I have built and maintained good working relationships with many of the care providers along the Northern Wasatch Front and am committed to creating and maintaining a positive birth experience for a mother and her birth team.
My role as a postpartum service provider is multi-faceted and I try to help my clients however is needed. The most popular ways I do this is with placenta encapsulation and belly binding. I've seen amazing benefits from both services that help new mothers ease into their new roles confidently. I also help with breastfeeding as needed and can refer to experts in this field if it is beyond my knowledge. Most recently I added a parenting skills class and am happy to offer Happiest Baby on the Block classes via zoom.
When I am not focusing on my clients or promoting safe and healthy pregnancies for all birthing people, I usually can be found in my garden, on my yoga mat, running, or daydreaming of traveling the world with my wonderful family. I wish I had more time to read and sleep, but such is the life of a doula/mother and I wouldn't have it any other way!
